Below are a few tips to help you access our information better.
1. Increasing font size or changing font type to improve visibility.
To make the text appear larger click on the 'View' menu, point to text size and then choose the size of text that you want. To display text in a different font click 'Internet Options' on the 'Tools' menu. On the 'General' tab, click 'Fonts'. In the 'Web page font' and 'Plain text font' lists, click the fonts you want.
2. Changing page colour to improve visibility.
To change how page colour are displayed on the 'Tools' menu in Internet Explorer, click 'Internet Options'. On the 'General' tab, click 'Colours'. Change the settings as required. If you want to specify which font and colour settings to use without having to change settings for individual sites or pages then select 'Tools', 'Internet Options'. On the 'General' tab click 'Accessibility'. You can then change the settings as required.
3. Using the keyboard.
If you have difficulty using a mouse or prefer to navigate using your keyboard then use the help button on your browser toolbar to find a list of keyboard shortcuts. With Internet Explorer for example you can press TAB and SHIFT+TAB to move forward and backward between screen elements such as links, hotspots on image maps, the menu bar.
4 Customise your toolbar.
You can customize the toolbar by adding or removing buttons, using small or large icons, and showing or hiding the text on the labels. You just need to right click the toolbar and then select Customise.
If you have low vision, you may want to add the Size button for quick access to the relative font size.
If you are using a screen reader, you may want to select Small Icons in the Icon Options list and No text labels in the Text Options list to maximize the amount of screen space available for Web content.
