Downton Abbey Costumes

Downton Abbey Costumes are on display at Llanelly House from yesterday until 15 November!

The very popular TV drama is much loved by many viewers! Attention to detail in the costumes used can be seen for yourself because they are now on display in Carmarthenshire – just half an hour from Old Oak Barn at Llanelly House.

Llanelly House was restored recently and is a stunning example of an early Georgian buildings in Wales. The history, the building and its occupants reflect both the triumphs and many diverse tribulations of Llanelli. It has been described as one of the finest early 18th Century town houses in the whole of Wales and certainly the finest in this county.  That description however, came before the archaeological work which went on to reveal the full splendour of the original design and many panelling and paintings which greatly enhances its importance.

Watch this short video for more information on its restoration!

Regular guided tours will be replaced by the inaugural Llanelly House Autumn Exhibition with some beautiful Edwardian Costumes from the award-winning drama, Downton Abbey. This will be in the elegant setting of the first floor rooms of Llanelly House.

Or if you feel like it a Luxury Afternoon Tea and Costume Viewing Package will also be available on selected dates.

So if staying in Carmarthenshire this Autumn do drop by and see the Dwonton Abbey Costumes! Regular guided tours will begin again in mid November.
