    Carmarthenshire Beaches

    Carmarthenshire Beaches

Watch this short film which gives a flavour of some of the best Carmarthenshire Beaches.

Old Oak Barn is within easy striking distance of several lovely beaches in Carmarthenshire. Perhaps our favourite is the beautiful Llansteffan featured at the start of the film above which is situated at one end of the Towy Estuary. On a clear day you can see for miles. It is the perfect spot for children with miles of golden sands. It has a wonderful playground for small children. Walking around to Scotts Bay is possible if the tide is right. The picture below also shows Llansteffan castle. Carmarthenshire Beaches

Many visitors will pop down to Laugharne and Pendine – both good for walking. When the tide is out you have a long walk to the water in Pendine although if you walk to the west from the slipway on the beach you will soon come to rockpools and sandy coves going that is towards Morfa Bychan and Amroth.

If you stay with us we can give you lots more information on how to get to the best beaches and where to park. We have a new Tide Clock in the barn so you will always know where the tide is and can plan accordingly! In case you need it though here is a link to the 2017 Tide Timetable for this part of Wales. Have an #AdevntureWales in 2016!
