Wales Coast App is here!

We think anyone wanting to walk in this beautiful part of Wales will be thrilled to download the  newly developed  App for the Wales Coast on their phone before arriving to see whats what on the coast! It is a free app and once downlaoded onto your android or IOS phone then you will have lots of information at your fingertips. It is cleverly organised so you need only download the parts of the coastline you actually need. I used the Wales Coast App recently in both Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire and it was fun to see exactly how much ground I covered.

There is a range of  information about our beaches and coastal walking options, and is a great tool for planning a day out or a holiday to Wales. If you have a dog then you can easily check out dog friendly beaches. If you want a path which is easily accessible then the Wales Coast App will answer your queries. It has been developed by the Keep Wales Tidy charity, in partnership with Visit Wales and Natural Resources Wales and it is supported too by the Coastal Communities Fund. It is the first app to route the entire Wales Coast Path and detail information on over 150 beaches.

Many visitors to Old Oak Barn are keen walkers and will walk a little way along the estuary of Carmarthen or further afield in Pembrokeshire if they want to see the magnificent bird life famous on for example Skomer Island. We once had visitors staying who were walking the ENTIRE coastline of the UK!! This was a 20 year project I think!  Imagine that!

One of the good things about this app is that it is very easy to use.  Why not have a look at the website for more details.
